About Me

A Brief Bio

My name is Laurie Stock.  I grew up in a small suburb of Chicago, where I attended the same church until I left home, and graduated high school with many of the same people I had gone to kindergarten with.  How on earth they managed to put up with me  for so long says a lot about the character of the friends the Lord has blessed me with.

I have been very fortunate and privileged to have traveled extensively in my short life.  In junior high, my grandmother treated me to a short vacation to Europe.  The memories from that trip still seem shrouded in the surreality that overshadowed it for me.  In high school I went on several summer mission trips.  Before my 18th birthday I had stamps in my passport from multiple continents and countries.  Going off to a missionary school that fall seemed the next logical step.  I had known since I was a child that I was called to full-time missions.

After college and an internship with YWAM, I came to Kansas City to be a part of the International House of Prayer.  Why I made this decision and where I am hoping to go from here are questions that are covered elsewhere.
